Its limitation is simple and visible in the spec sheet. This cable is not a high-speed data cable. Do not use it as the permanent cable between a laptop and a monitor or a fast SSD, then blame the drive when transfers crawl. The cable is intentionally focused on safe high-power charging, and it makes the most sense for the charger that stays in a backpack, bedroom, kitchen drawer, or travel pouch.

That shorter length is useful at a desk, where a cable can run from a laptop to a dock without becoming a coil of extra signal path and clutter.
The cable earns its price only when you can use that bandwidth. It is a strong choice for a laptop connected to a Thunderbolt dock, a monitor with a USB-C hub, or a high-speed SSD. It is overkill for a phone next to the bed. A charging cable will do the same simple job for much less, and a longer charging cable will make the room more comfortable.
Before buying, check your laptop’s port description. For video, the relevant language may be Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 5, USB4, or USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode. The 10 ft option is justified when the outlet is genuinely far from where you use the device; otherwise, extra cable tends to become a snag point.
Longer is not automatically better. A cable that crosses a walking path gets stepped on, pulled at the connector, and wrapped tightly around a charger. Give it enough room to reach, then use a shorter cable for the bag. Keep this one out of the monitor-and-drive role. A 3 ft cable keeps a desk, power bank, or carry-on pouch tidy. It also works well with a wall charger placed on a table directly beside the device. A 6 ft cable is the most flexible all-purpose length. It can reach around a nightstand or across a hotel bed without becoming ridiculous at a desk.
